P1MCS 2026 – Round 3 | Fuji Speedway | Multiclass Sprint – Race Report
Cold air (11°C), dry track, and that legendary Fuji straight where bravery gets tested every lap.

Friday night in the Land of the Rising Sun delivered exactly what Fuji promises: clean speed, brutal braking into Turn 1, and multiclass chess at 300 km/h.
With 5 LMH + 11 GT3 on the grid, the field was smaller — but the action absolutely wasn’t.
Qualifying: Thousandths in GT3, statement in LMH

#47 Benjamin Gielczynski – 1:29.682 (Pole)

#46 Jan Wenninger – +0.464

#98 Henrik Adolphs

#42 Marlon Müller

LMH story
At the very front it was the familiar team-mates duel again — Gielczynski vs Wenninger, the “private war” of the season.
There were moments where it looked like the fight might ignite properly… but Fuji’s rhythm is ruthless: one mistake and the gap becomes a wall.
- Wenninger had a spin under pressure and lost the lead.
- Gielczynski didn’t stay perfectly spotless either — but the key difference was recovery and consistency.
- End result: a commanding win and a gap that says “control” more than “luck.”

- Behind them, Adolphs/Walter/Müller weren’t just cruising — but once the gaps opened, it became a precision race: don’t overdrive, don’t throw it away, bring it home.

GT3 story: “How do you even overtake here?”
Early on it looked like Maleika vs Putzke would decide the race — they were glued together, trading momentum, building pressure, waiting for the pit window.
- Then Fuji did what Fuji does:
- Putzke’s stop went wrong (the car got lifted / extra service), dropping him out of the win fight.
- Maleika later got a drive-through (cuts) with minutes to go — heartbreak timing.

- And that opened the door for the two drivers who played the long game:

Szabo stayed sharp, stayed clean, and when the leaders stumbled, he took the win.

Jungblut came alive at the end and nearly stole it — a proper last-laps sprint.

Holtkamp vs Happ became the story behind the story: pressure, defense, and a BMW that’s a rocket on the straight. Holtkamp held it together and grabbed a career-first podium.

That’s multiclass sprint racing in one sentence: pace helps — but survival, discipline, and execution win trophies.
