4th June 2017 __________________________________________ What does that exactly mean? Does it mean the rain status will be copied 1:1 from Liveweather? Or does it mean that it WILL rain in the race?` Was genau bedeutet das? Wir der Regen 1:1 von Liveweather übernommen (sozusagen 100%)? Oder heisst das einfach es wird regnen im Rennen? __________________________________________ Could also someone explain me how Driver Swap is working?
Hi, the plugin could import the real weather into rFactor. The Admin can make settings, that the rain at the track, if there is someone, brake down to x%. I think there are no real values we can talk about, because in real life it gives even no 100% rain. If Admin gives 100%, rFactor give all it can if there is a lot of rain. If he set it to 10%, track is wet, but most near to good driveable. It didn´t mean, that we became definitely rain! If it is dry in Suzuka on race day, it will be dry at our event! I´m a frind of 100%, because we want to simulate as real as it gets, even if we did not knew what means 100% in the plugin. But as i wrote above, we cant say what is 100% of rain in real, and we has seen a lot of races in real where it has heavily rained. Driver swap means, that the following driver join the server as spectator. You have to set it bevor joining in network settings in Game. You have to configure an button for driver swap. After joining, he search the car he wants to take over and click "race". If he is in the car he has to push the button and the driver noticed in chat "Driver xy is riding with you". After that, he could open pit menu in the car while driving, change fuel, tires, damage etc and could change the driver, logical the driver joined the car. After that the driver could drive into pit and make the pitstop. He became the chat info, that he will lost control in x seconds after pitstop ended, the following driver became chat info, "you gained control in x seconds". After all work is done in the pit, following driver controlled the car and leave pits. That´s the time where first driver could press ESC and leave the car and the server because of server-network-traffic. That´s even the reason, why following driver should not join to early, maybe 5-10min before pitstop.
I will be driving for the Suzuka race and if needed can support with English commentary. I have experience commentating for Formula SimRacing. If this is needed please let me know.
Just to clarify slightly; The button to configure is "passenger select" Once you click on the car then you hit the key you have used for "passenger select". Other trivia: Common errors are in my experience -Forgetting to also click "Race" the big field bottom right on screen. This is the action that finally puts you in the car. -Driver forgets to select the replacement driver in the pit menu.
So I guess we just need to be clear about when I am needed/available and the process (or password) for the entry to comms booth. It would probably be nice for the viewers to have an English speaker ( or at least my Australian version of english) at least for the start and first hour. Then I can help at other times after driving. But yeah, lets plan ahead so we are on the same page. Cheers
Hey Simon, any idea when this problem will be fixed, as its kind of impossible to practice with other cars without going blinded.
Due to family problems of one of our drivers we need to withdraw #62 Horizon P2 car and I have updated #63 car line up.
Hi Guys! In World of SimRacing Team would have liked to participate in the race, but the date is really bad for us. We hope to race in the next one! Good look and have fun to all. We´ll keep an eye on you. Kind Regards.
Hi @Markus Broch Just to further our conversation about English speaking commentary, I can make myself available for Saturday at Suzuka. I can be there at the start and for 2 hours or so. Then join again for the final hour. If this is of interest please let me know and we can fine tune details. If its not required thats fine too, just maybe let me know either way. Thanks David
Admin Post The first two hours I comment with daniel. I still talk with Ricardo so you both together for a two hours
